I didn't, for a while then the nanite sickness happened and I pulled my head out
I had the same problem it was as though two realities were true at the same time, as opposed to it being like I'd left the Tranquility behind a decade ago things that had happened last cycle were just as recent as having never occurred at all very strange business
i think you're right. at least, getting back into old routines is helping. i suppose that's what humans are like. there wouldn't be a way to measure time without repetition.
very fucking strange business.
how long was it before the nanite sickness happened?
a couple of cycles. I hadn't returned from a high point in my life nor did I have much interest in getting back into old routine, put it that way. have you had anyone fuss at you?
no. well a little. i made a mess on jump day but tadashi sorted me out. he's very nice. japanese bloke. i think he might have been circling your department for nanite stuff the other cycle.
right before i came back here i mostly hadn't had anybody to talk to in awhile, so i'm just glad for the fucking company.
i keep having the urge to ask people what i missed, but i know that'd just sound really odd in context.
to be honest it was a bit like the shit we're in right now, which is making things very fucking confusing.
stranded on a ship in space. that one didn't have a mind of its own, though. it was actually running low on fuel toward the end, and everybody else went into cryostasis. it made sense for me to stay up because i don't consume any resources if i don't have to. but i don't think i was all there in the end.

i think it helped that i went away for a p long fucking while.
but even before that.
really: thanks.

how long is a fucking while?

4-5 years? seems like a long fucking time anyway. i started to lose track a bit toward the end because of the circumstances.
how much time did you gain when you went back?
no subject
you've gotten back on the horse well enough, circumstances or no

these comm devices help. lots of notes. but it's still all fucked up, memories trying to put themselves in a straight line.
how did you manage with 11 bloody years?

and don't worry about being odd. it's an odd position to be in. they'll help you.
may I inquire about the circumstances you left behind again?

was there a space pirate named neha here?

it's a good thing you authored for yourself a detailed timeline
that sounds very bleak, William. I'm sorry to hear it.
no subject
i will have a look at that timeline and get my head sorted.
any more advice?
