I don't think they could overtake us, no matter how many of us they think there are.
But if they tried hard enough we might lose people first.

I think it's best we play to their expectations for the moment
it would be easier to sell something different later if we need to than the other way around

and I believe also it matters less that they don't know how many of us are here and more that they don't know what we are capable of

They expect us to have significantly less than a year of supplies left, if we need to be helpless & starving later.
